I was born and raised in Spokane Washington, and learned to draw as a child, encouraged by my architect father to observe and replicate in detail what I saw, a practice which proved to be beneficial as I studied art at Fort Wright College and went on to earn my BA in Interior Design from Washington State University. Upon graduating I spent a number of years working as an interior designer at Joel Inc. in Spokane.

In 2007, I began to rekindle a passion for art after meeting Paul Rafferty, a successful self-taught English painter, whose work and spirit inspired me to seriously pursue painting again. He suggested that I study Edward Seago, as well as Sir Winston Churchill, whose daring venture into painting later on in his life became a catalyst for me. As regards Northwest artists that I have been influenced by, I have studied under Mitchell Albala and Stan Miller. The iconic Harold Balazs has been a constant source of inspiration for me, as he was a passionate artist who worked insatiably his entire life..

The beauty of the natural world and my connection to it, continue to be a constant source of inspiration for my work.
